February 24, 2004 The sail was outstanding! The accommodations were comfortable. Albert Derop, our captain was very informative. We both took the helm and learned sail handling , the various lines, and some basic navigation with maps. The food presentation was some of the best we have ever seen. The best quality! We were never ever hungry after we ate. Everything was first class. The sail/boat was better than expected. George & Nancy Carpenter
January 22-29, 2004 Both Josy and Albert are knowledgeable across a vast array of subjects and paid close attention to our every need/want. Any expectation we had... Josy is the queen of the galley! The itinerary was completely enjoyable and accommodated any changes we suggested. All the advertised "toys" were in good condition. The broker asked the question... "What are some of the things enjoyed most on board: One thing? Be serious...the companionship, the food, the conversations, the willingness to teach us about the BVI's. The other question was: Would we recommend any changes about the yacht?..."nothing at all". Lovely! Thanks,
January 28, 2004 Albert and Josy...here is a fraction of the fabulous things we saw during what has been a week sans pareille (without parallel). You taught us the meaning of velocity made good, hospitality made great, sailing 101 made (deceptively) easy, cuisine made with care and the spice of life. You were warm and gracious and attentive to all the little details that make all the difference...meals prepared with careful thought, sailing lessons delivered with patience, destinations chosen thoughtfully (where can we jog and snorkel)? You let me practice my French and then seamlessly shifted to your (much better) English when my vocabulary gave out. You role model what it means to "live your passion" and you knew to embrace all of what that entails without a hint of regret or complaint. Being with you both was as special as was the whole cruise. Merci mille fois!!
January 20, 2004 No "Thank you" can suffice for the magical time we have experienced aboard Exbury II. The hospitality and warmth you provided are unsurpassed by anything we ever expected. The daily "Feasting"...mmmm! amazing what Josy creates in her galley. The lovely weather, the adventurous sailing with "The Master and Commander" Albert...nothing less than spectacular. We arrived strangers And left with unforgettable memories and two new wonderful friends. Until Next Time,
There are simply no words to express our gratitude for one of the best experiences of our lives! (Except for the additional pounds)! Josy, your way with food and your lovely conversation abound! Albert, the jokes, the sailing and the sharing of music was terrific! We didn't know what to expect since this is our first charter. But now I can't even think of all the wonderful things we have forever in our memories. Sailing with beautiful sun & wind on blue waters. Seeing special islands and beaches as only you can from a yacht. Learning what peace comes when sailing silently on the ocean. Each meal is a new experience. The love that goes into the food is always present. The Whales how beautiful!! The quiet beaches away from the crowds and the special beaches among the rock gods. Spending this time with two truly exceptional people, who make their home our home too. THANK YOU!! We wish you health & happiness.
January 11, 2004 Expectations. We came expecting a nice boat, got a full-bore yacht. Came for good service, world class hands-on instead. Possibly we would learn something, instead, practically a college course with a smile and a joke. Needed some local knowledge, leave with enough to do a trip ourselves. Maybe we would meet travelers who could make other places real for us. Thought that maybe we would converse, instead found that 2:00AM was not all that late. Came as strangers, are now leaving as friends! Charlie (Garry)
The sailing, the sun, and the snorkeling were fabulous. The boat a gem and the food was five star throughout ( I really admire Josy for that). But most appreciated was the time Albert took to give us all the little "tricks of the trades" that will help us on our own sailing future. And a good feeling that Albert & Josy will be there for us too.
December 20-27, 2003 We asked for simple snorkeling, sailing, and healthy eating. What we got was generous, exceptional snorkeling, great sailing including some open water and truly lovely produced meals of the highest quality. Our expectations were exceeded - what more could one wish for? Well, we got a big bonus, and that was the two of you to share this time with. You are our kind of folks and we applaud your choices in life; they sure added to ours. We came to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with this. Our 2nd sailing charter, the first being, for our 10th in 1993. Ten years of fond memories due to the fine blend or warmth and professionalism with which you accommodated us. A rich new batch of memories we have now, including (but not limited to): Lime soufflé, Benures Bay snorkeling, our entire Christmas Eve/Anniversary dinner, and particularly the sauce on the Roast Turkey, splendid sailing, "Guaranteed" turtles, Barracuda! Spotted Eagle Ray at Dead Man's Bay, And of course Josy's famous chocolate truffles! Thank you for this and more. Wishing you smooth sailing, whether or not we meet again, its good to know you are here.
B.D. and R.B., Thanks for showing us your way of life - with warmth and professionalism - it has been a most engaging holiday! We experienced so many things that our cocktail chatter back in Idaho will have many new facts (some embellished, some not). Thank you again for the wonderful food, sailing, turtles, St Barts, conversation and perspective! S.L.,
We had a wonderful Honeymoon on board Exbury II and really appreciated your ability to be there when needed and away when not. Class is something difficult to define, but it shows in many ways in your dealing with our expectations. Thank you again for the sailing experience, the superb food, and the relaxed atmosphere. J.V.,
A week with you on Exbury II gave us so many tips and information about living onboard and voyaging safely, that we will fear less the day when we will, ourselves, sail into the sunset. Thank you for sharing with us your 28 years of sailing experience and 20 years of living permanently on board a sailing boat. We hope to be able to do it too! F.J. and V.D.,
