EXBURY II is a 55'sailing yacht with classic, elegant lines fully equipped to allow you to enjoy the fun of sailing in safety and style. This yacht is chartered by only one couple or two singles with their crew, so the objective right from the start is quality, not quantity.

EXBURY II is big enough to provide the stability of a large yacht, yet still small enough to be a quick, responsible boat.

Her layout boasts a starboard aft owner cabin with one "Queen+" size berth and "ensuite" toilet and shower. Ventilation is excellent with a windscoop rushing air through a deck hatch open permanently even when it rains, two smaller hatches which extract all the refreshing air coming in and two personal fans for those rare windless nights. Two coachroof windows also allow the light generously above the sink and in the dressing area of this cabin.  Headroom (minimum 6'4")is generous to enhance a feeling of airy space.

Elegant dining can be enjoyed in the spacious saloon or "al fresco", under the stars in the cockpit. A library of more than 200books,audio and visual equipments, as well as floats, snorkeling gear add to your day's enjoyment.

With a lot shaded area, the cockpit has two levels; one with a table and the other with four sling chairs which are loved and praised by our guests.  Conditions permitting some of them stay in those most of the time while sailing and relaxing.

For those interested in scuba adventures, dives can be arranged with the services of a rendez vous boat at your request.

On Exbury II, you may let the crew help you learn years of cruising tips for more fun on your own boat or just sit back, relax and be pampered .

Exbury II's crew will welcome HONEYMOONERS with all the attention and discretion that such a special holiday do require

Exbury's crew is non smoking but smoking is allowed on deck.

SPECIAL YACHTMEN SECTION

The standards of yacht beauty were firmly established back in the Herreshoff  era and no one has done it better since.

But substantial gains have been made in rigs and under body. A properly designed Scheel keel will work better to windward, while reducing wetted surface drag, and concentrating the ballast down where it works best. A balanced spade rudder also produce more lift, while allowing the pleasure of fingertip steering. EXBURY II combines classic beauty topside (where it shows) and high performance foils below (where it counts).

Someone did say: "You should always sail on the boat upon which you want to be seen arriving".

EXBURY II was custom built in South Africa in 1990 out of Sequoia wood, cold molded with West epoxy system for the CEO of the Coca Cola bottling operations in the southern part of Africa. A very experienced and meticulous yachtsman, he monitored all the building stages to achieve his masterpiece.

There is not one week passing without somebody complimenting us on her look. She is a truly beautiful, classically built, boat that instinctively look right from all angles.

Her long overhangs, sweeping sheerline, elegant doghouse and wineglass transom delights the eye and makes her an eye-catcher of the first magnitude. We love her and our most knowledgeable guests agreed that she is also a magnificent sailing machine.

Her cutter rig (71 foot tall on deck, all sails by Hood) is very versatile and she is remarkably sea kindly for such a powerful hull and sail plan. The rack and pinion steering gives a tiller feeling to the wheel commanding a fully balanced and state of the art rudder.

She is considered a modern classic, built to a classic style but with a modern, performance hull and a Scheel keel that allows versatile harbor access.

However, many of our guests find gentle sailing and the sheer pride of being aboard a yacht who likes to make heads turn to be pleasure enough.
