Your Captain
Phil Levine is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain, certified in marine
electronics, CPR and first aid.
A native of Cambridge, Massachusetts, he has also lived in Switzerland
and Guadaloupe. Phil is fluent in German and speaks a little Spanish and
French.
A water lover in every way, he is a champion competitive swimmer, scuba
diver, wind surfer and fisherman. A fan of photography, classical music,
literature, and the West Indian culture, Phil is an interesting and
low-key companion.
Your Chef
Aboard Storm Petrel as the Chef is Laura Schaub, age 39. Laura has been
a cardiac nurse for nearly 20 years in the midwest, but decided to answer
the call of the ocean. An avid water lover, she has been a certified PADI
diver since 1984, and has sailed her own Columbia sloop for the past 13
years.
She has a passion for cooking and a love for fine food. She has
attended classes at the French Pastry School in Chicago, The World Cup
Pastry Forum in Las Vegas, The Cordon Bleu in Paris, and has won numerous
awards for her cooking.
She is easygoing with a variety of interests from gardening, herbs,
photography, antiques and travel.
